Troy Design and Manufacturing is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company. At TDM, we use 21st Century manufacturing processes such as 3D design and printing, laser cutting, and automation for prototype and low volume manufacturing of components of current and future Ford vehicles. At our Chicago modification center facility, we do state of the art vehicle modifications for multiple police interceptor platforms.

Position Description:

To develop designs or surface models according to the design requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Take sketched or written documentation in conjunction with verbal direction to complete designs, changes, or finalizing a sub-model. 
• Develop simple surfacing.
• Develop Manual/Application sheets and create pdf's for EKB.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Power Point.
• Basic understanding of LD files and groupings as used for tool designs.
• Perform investigative work for the project leader, as LD or Product changes.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience in same or similar position.
• Demonstrates the application of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of tooling design utilizing CAD software. 
  • Catia V5 experience is a plus
• Ability to follow verbal, written or sketched documentation/instructions from designers/checkers/project leader.
• Demonstrates effective investigative and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
