KTA-Tator, Inc. (KTA) is seeking an Account Representative for its Instrument Sales & Service group. This is a fast-paced, customer-facing sales role built around helping customers get the right inspection equipment, calibration, or repair service when they need it. Most opportunities begin with an inbound call or email, and customers expect a knowledgeable, accurate response quickly.
The right person will combine urgency with attention to detail. You will learn a broad technical product line, turn customer needs into accurate recommendations and quotes, and own each opportunity from first contact through order completion and follow-up. This is not a passive order-entry position; it is a relationship-based sales role where responsiveness, reliability, and good judgment create repeat business.

What You Will Do:

  • Respond promptly to inbound calls, emails, and web inquiries from customers who need inspection equipment, calibration, repair, rentals, or related support.
  • Ask the right questions to understand the customer's application, timing, specifications, and budget, then recommend appropriate products or services.
  • Prepare accurate quotes, confirm availability and lead times, calculate shipping, and clearly communicate next steps.
  • Manage assigned opportunities and customer relationships from initial inquiry through order placement, delivery, and follow-up.
  • Process sales orders and maintain complete, accurate customer, quote, and activity records in NetSuite and other company systems.
  • Coordinate with the Sales Coordinator, calibration lab, warehouse, purchasing, and vendors to resolve issues and keep commitments to customers.
  • Follow up on open quotes, recent purchases, service needs, and inactive accounts to generate repeat business and identify additional opportunities.
  • Develop working knowledge of KTA's product lines and explain technical features and options in clear, practical language.
  • Support domestic and international orders, including required documentation and customer communication.
  • Represent KTA professionally at selected customer visits, trade shows, sales meetings, and industry events.
  • Travel to trade shows, industry events, and customer locations to support the brand and grow your book of business.

What Success Looks Like:
  • Customers receive fast, accurate answers and view KTA as a dependable source for equipment and service.
  • Quotes and orders are complete, accurate, and followed through without details being lost between teams.
  • Open opportunities are actively managed, and follow-up leads to stronger retention and repeat revenue.
  • You become increasingly confident discussing the products and helping customers make sound buying decisions.
  • You contribute to team revenue and margin goals while protecting the long-term customer relationship

What We Are Looking For
  • A customer-focused professional who communicates clearly, follows through, and stays composed when priorities change quickly.
  • Sales, account management, customer service, distribution, or technical product experience is preferred. We will consider strong candidates with transferable experience and the drive to learn.
  • Comfort handling a high volume of calls, emails, quotes, and orders while maintaining accuracy and organization.
  • Ability to learn technical products and translate customer needs into practical recommendations; prior coatings or inspection-equipment experience is not required.
  • Sound judgment, personal accountability, and willingness to take ownership instead of waiting to be directed.
  • Working knowledge of common business software. Experience with NetSuite, a CRM, or another ERP system is helpful.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to travel domestically on occasion for customer visits, trade shows, events, and sales meetings.
  • Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to work at a computer and communicate by phone for extended periods, handle small instruments and gauges, and safely lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
