- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 3 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
- 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Experience working with artificial intelligence systems and metrics analysis.
- Track record of collaborating closely with cross-functional partners to drive product goal in a complex, matrixed organization.

We are seeking a Software Engineer Manager to lead the engineering team for our core commerce experiences. In this role, you will manage and mentor a team of engineers expanding protocol capabilities and launching agentic shopping features across Google surfaces. You will provide leadership, drive technical direction, and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across the consumer organization to deliver user experiences.The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. Responsibilities:
- Build and scale user experiences that leverage capabilities at Google scale.
