About Team:

Welcome to the Production Services – Global Payments and Trade.  This team provides proactive and reactive monitoring and support of the organizations critical Applications supporting the movement of funds within the BNYM eco system.   This support includes actively monitoring, managing, and maintaining the application and hardware infrastructure for the 51 Applications providing these services to our internal and external clients.  The team also provides reporting, performance metrics and change release management.  The service is 24x7 with an on-call structure to cover critical periods.  The service is delivered in a consistent, predictable, and reliable manner.

About the Role: 

As a Senior Specialist, Production Services Application Support member, he/she will be responsible for maintaining the operational integrity of our technology applications/platforms and communicating with our clients. This role is crucial in ensuring the stability, efficiency, and continuous availability of the systems that support our financial operations.  The Production Services team is monitoring the real-time dashboards for first touch remediation of events impacting our critical applications. Where not supported they are accountable for confirming that proper attention is being applied to each of the events.  Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Key Responsibilities

  • Resolve any issues related to critical applications, servers, networks, and telecommunications.
  • Maintain and execute standard procedures to troubleshoot and resolve events.
  • Work with platform engineers to reduce mean time to resolution and enhance the delivery of the service.
  • They must maintain communication with the vendors and the team to ensure they remain updated on any issues in their domains.
  • Regularly interact with the Internal customers and support teams.  Treat the stakeholders with diplomacy and politeness. They must handle both the non-technical and technical requirements for the customer.

 

 

Qualifications

The successful candidate for this position will possess the following combination of education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science and/or equivalent work experience in similar fields.
  • 3-5 years of experience in technology support areas. Including Network, Windows, Unix, and/or Mainframe performing hands-on IT Infrastructure & Application troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management and knowledge of payments ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of the Financial System and Trading platforms. 
  • Self-motivated, with key strengths in initiative, dependability, and teamwork.
  • Background and experience working in an enterprise environment with ITIL Service Management disciplines, inclusive of Request, Incident, Problem and Change processes.

Base salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base salary is only part of the total rewards package, which may include eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents.
