We are seeking a skilled Chief Engineer primarily for our 3,000 HP, 498 GT Vessel, the OAG Responder. In this critical role, you’ll ensure reliable vessel performance and operational safety
What You’ll Do
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance and repairs for all engineering systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Manage spare parts, consumables, and onboard inventories.
- Oversee fuel, lube, and waste handling, ensuring MARPOL and environmental compliance.
- Supervise Assistant Engineers
- Coordinate shipyard periods, vendor work, and maintain class/USCG records.
Qualifications
- MMC national officer endorsement as Chief Engineer-Limited, motor propulsion, valid for 3,000 HP or more, oceans.
- STCW Chief Engineer Officer, management level, motor 750 kW/1,000 HP to 3,000 kW/4,000 HP, or 3,000 kW/4,000 HP and above
- Current STCW Basic Training
- Current STCW Advanced Firefighting
- Current USCG Medical Certification (STCW)
- Valid TWIC
- US Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
