Summary of Job Duties:

The prospective candidate will be responsible for assisting the Livestock Technician in the management of the UAPB Livestock Farm, which includes managing livestock animals (E.g., Cows, goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits, etc.). The candidate will assist the Livestock Technician and the UAPB farm manager. The candidate will also oversee the cleanliness, well-maintained, and/or working animal facilities, including cattle handling facility, goat barn, farrowing house, pig fattening and weaning units, rabbit hutches, and poultry facility. This individual will also assist and facilitate student outreach activities during laboratory sessions and on and off-campus farm demonstrations.

May have to work on some weekends.


Qualifications:

A minimum of a high school diploma with 3-5+ years of experience working on a livestock farm, with 2+ years of experience. Individuals must have experience in farm maintenance and general animal husbandry.
