BIOLOGY TEACHING ASSISTANT (Prater)

Start Date: 8/24/2026

Support General Biology labs by preparing materials, assisting students, and ensuring proper lab procedures are followed. Ideal for students with a strong science background and attention to detail.

Responsibilities and Career Competencies:

  1. Maintain confidentiality, be punctual, communicate changes in work schedule in advance, and wear appropriate attire – P
  2. Assist with lab setup, including making standard solutions and using lab instruments independently – TW, CT, T
  3. Arrive 15 minutes before lab to ensure readiness – P
  4. Assist students during lab and foster inclusive participation – C, CT, L, CTR
  5. Ensure all safety regulations are followed by self and students – P, L, CT
  6. Ensure labs are cleaned and equipment is returned and powered off after sessions – C, TW, L
  7. Provide clerical support, proofreading, photocopying, and filing; assist on additional projects – TW
  8. Grade lab reports while maintaining confidentiality – C, P, CT
  9. Prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines – P, L
  10. Communicate your skills and availability in your application letter – CSD
  11. Perform other duties as determined by the supervisor – P, TW
