Job Overview

The primary role of a Vintner's Table Bartender is to maintain excellent guest-focused service and ensure guest satisfaction, and a future return to our winery by providing prompt, attentive, and friendly service. Bartenders are required to meet all duties and responsibilities outlined below to ensure proper operations of the bar and winery.

Qualifications

  • Be at least 21 years of age to Bartend
  • Exceptional wine knowledge and wine service basics
  • Excellent basic mathematical skills
  • Able to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food and containers weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Stamina to work 15 – 35 hours per week.
  • RAMP training requirement (company offered)
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

General

  • Represent Vintner's Table by maintaining the highest level of professionalism and service.
  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Folino Estate.
  • Holds self to high standards, being a productive and forward-thinking individual contributing to the overall success of Vintner's Table
  • Possess excellent communication skills while maintaining a level of composure in what can be a hectic setting at times.
  • Stamina to be in constant motion.
  • Coordination and organization.
  • Attention to detail in every aspect of work.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations established by the Pennsylvania State Health Department and Vintner's Table.

Guest Service

  • Be active and engaging in helping to achieve our goal of providing the highest service possible to our guests.
  • RAMP (Responsible Alcohol Management Program) certified.
  • Strong foundation and understanding of our Wine, alcoholic beverages, and all other offerings.

Operations

  • Service bar to standards set forth by ownership and management for brunch, lunch, or dinner service.
  • Checking valid identification to ensure guests are of legal age to purchase alcohol.
  • Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.
  • Greets every guest in a genuine and friendly manner.
  • Provides guests with menus and QR codes; and ensuring they are seated comfortably.
  • Explaining to guests the QR codes and process, ensuring they understand how it properly works.
  • Listening and understanding guest needs and wants to determine beverage and food preferences while also making recommendations and offering highlighted menu offerings.
  • Informing guests of new wine, beverages, and food specials.
  • Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to guests.
  • Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages for the service bar for Tasting Lounge guests.
  • Properly measuring wine and spirits according to set standards forth.
  • Properly label and date all products according to Health Code Standards.
  • Properly rotating all products adhering to the "first in, first out" policy.
  • Taking inventory at the end of the shift and restocking all bar products to ensure success for the next shift.
  • Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to guests, and balancing the cash register.
  • Maintaining a clean work area by removing trash, cleaning bars, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
  • Monitoring guest alcohol consumption based on RAMP and Vintner's regulations.
  • Properly inform MOD (manager on duty) if the guest because visibly intoxicated.
  • All other operational bar duties as assigned by ownership or management.
  • Accept guest payments, process credit card charges, and make changes if necessary.
  • Attending all scheduled employee meetings and offering suggestions for improvement.
  • Fill in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

Supplemental

  • Plan, organize, and control the operations of the event bar.
  • Provide guests with information about Vintner's Table, and local areas, including giving directions
