Essential Job Function

  • Disassembles, cleans, inspects, repairs, and reassembles aerospace solenoids in accordance with approved procedures, drawings, and specifications.
  • Performs electrical, mechanical, and functional testing of solenoids and related components.
  • Identifies defects, wear, damage, and other discrepancies and determines appropriate repair actions within approved procedures.
  • Uses hand tools, electrical test equipment, measuring devices, and specialized inspection equipment as required.
  • Reads and interprets work instructions, engineering drawings, technical documentation, CMMs, and customer requirements.
  • Performs inspections throughout the repair and overhaul process to ensure components meet quality and customer requirements.
  • Documents inspection results, repair findings, test results, and other required production and quality information accurately.
  • Troubleshoots solenoid and component issues and communicates technical concerns to R&O Leads, Quality, and Engineering as appropriate.
  • Maintains compliance with established safety, quality, regulatory, and R&O procedures.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Participates in process improvements and supports troubleshooting of recurring repair or quality issues.
  • Cross-trains and supports other R&O workstations as business needs require.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical principles related to solenoids and aerospace components.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings, work instructions, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to use hand tools, measuring instruments, inspection equipment, and electrical test equipment.
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to accurately document inspection results, repair findings, and test results.
  • Ability to identify defects, discrepancies, and abnormal conditions during the repair and overhaul process.
  • Ability to follow established procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to learn and perform multiple R&O processes and workstations.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to enter and maintain production and quality records.


Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 2–3 years of mechanical, electrical, electronics, or aerospace assembly/repair experience preferred.
  • Aerospace, electronics, solenoid, or component repair experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience using hand tools, measurement equipment, and basic electrical test equipment preferred.
  • Experience reading basic engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical documentation preferred.
