Warren Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our growing, multi-doctor practice in Phillipsburg, NJ.

Since 1977, our hospital has been providing compassionate, high-quality veterinary care to pets and families throughout Warren County and the surrounding communities. We are looking for a technician who enjoys hands-on patient care, works well as part of a team, and takes initiative in a busy clinical environment.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Veterinary Technician, you'll work closely with our veterinarians and support team throughout appointments, treatments, diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and maintaining exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces
  • Performing venipuncture and collecting blood samples
  • Placing IV catheters
  • Administering SQ, IM, and IV medications and injections
  • Understanding commonly used veterinary medications and appropriate dosages
  • Obtaining diagnostic radiographs
  • Preparing and processing laboratory specimens for in-house testing and reference laboratories
  • Assisting with surgical procedures and anesthesia monitoring
  • Performing dental cleanings and dental radiographs
  • Assisting with emergency procedures as directed by the veterinarian
  • Safely restraining and handling patients
  • Educating clients on treatments, medications, and patient care
  • Maintaining accurate patient records
  • Supporting efficient workflow throughout the hospital
  • Completing additional patient care and hospital duties as needed

  • Has previous veterinary technician or strong veterinary assistant experience
  • Is confident with hands-on technical and patient care skills

  • Works well as part of a collaborative veterinary team
  • Remains calm and professional during stressful situations
  • Is comfortable safely handling animals of different sizes and temperaments
  • Has basic computer skills; Cornerstone experience is a plus
  • Can stand for extended periods and safely lift at least 50 pounds
