A Brief Overview
Under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor and the Lead Medical Assistant, the Clinic Aide provides basic clinical and non-clinical assistance to the clinical team by supporting efficient clinic throughput, maintaining a safe environment of care and promoting a patient/family-centered visit experience.

Work Schedule

36 to 40 Hours Per Week

8-Hour Shifts Monday-Thursday; 4-Hour Shift Friday

No weekend/holidays

What you will do

  • Surveillance of waiting room and notification of clinical team if patient has been waiting for an extended period
  • Intervenes as necessary to calm patients and families, explain delays and provide frequent updates on expected wait times
  • As required, support social distancing and patient/family masking by providing reminders and engaging patient and family in conversations that promote compliance
  • Assist clinic staff in providing a clean and effective environment of care. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Stocking exam rooms with needed supplies
  • Wiping down rooms between patients
  • Keeping exam rooms clean, neat and patient-ready
  • Assisting patients with way finding
  • Maintain and support others in complying with current personal protective equipment (PPE) standards
  • Notifies clinical team immediately with any concerns regarding patient safety or wellbeing
  • Provides assistance in obtaining vital signs and growth measurements under the supervision of the Credentialed Medical Assistant, Registered Nurse or Provider
  • Assist in the escorting of select patients from parking garage to exam room
  • Escort stable patients between clinic appointments, and ancillary services when infection control precautions must be maintained
  • Provide 1:1 supervision of patients at risk for self-harm
  • Navigate the medical record and document data as instructed
  • Upload scans and images into EMR

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED - Required

Experience Qualifications

  • Pediatric experience or childcare experience - Preferred
  • Work in behavioral health environments - Preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Basic computer and telephone skills
  • Basic vital sign assessment and documentation
  • Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate communication
