The Assistant Director aligns the work of the PA adult residential IDD programs to the vision, mission and values of the organization. The AD has a critical leadership role and is responsible for supervising an assigned group of Program Managers who have direct oversight and functioning of their community homes, the individuals who live in those homes, and the staff that support those individuals.
 

The Assistant Director supervises the implementation of established outcomes for our homes achieved by effective and timely delivery of services by utilizing data collection, analysis and process implementation.

This role is a hybrid role; while mostly Work from Home there are virtual meeting and in-office requirements and as well as expected travel to the client homes/meetings within the region at least 2 days per week. Standard Monday through Friday with on call expectations for emergency and program needs.

Some Essential Functions Include:

  • Supervises Program Managers and direct service staff working in homes in the assigned PA region.

  • Provides oversight and supervision to ensure that all staff are performing to job expectations and program goals.

  • Builds positive working relationships with supervisors, staff, families, funders and both internal and external team members.

  • Executes day to day operations in Residential services.

  • Establishes strong collaboration with other service areas such as Day Program, Community Participation, Home & Community and support/shared areas such as Facilities, Training, Nursing, Clinical and Personal Outcomes Champions

  • Conducts regular documented staff meetings on the established timeline and schedule.

  • Works with Director of Community Options to ensure implementation and data collection of performance goals.

  • Maintains house budgets and staff overtime in conjunction with the Director.

  • Represents KenCrest in a positive and professional manner inside and outside of the workplace.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

  • At least 5 years’ experience in the IDD or related human services field, including some combination of supervisory, administrative or managerial required.

  • Experience with virtual meeting software platforms such as Zoom, Go to Meeting, or Microsoft Teams required.

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record required.

  • Exceptional skills in building and maintaining healthy work relationships with staff.

  • The ability to think critically, provide problem-solving guidance.

  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills

  • Availability and flexibility for frequent local travel based on scheduled shift requirements.
