Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.


Overview

This dental assistant will be working along side the OSF dental residents.

 

Ideal candidate will have experience in all aspects of dental: scheduling, all clinical procedures, and infection control.

 

This dental assistant will work at both clinics in Peoria which are St. Francis Medical Center and Peoria County Health Department off Sheridan Rd.

 

POSITION SUMMARY: The Dental Assistant assists in the care of patients receiving dental treatment. The Dental Assistant is responsible for managing treatment rooms, providing patient instruction, completing administrative services and instrument sterilization. Provides safe and appropriate care in compliance with all regulatory requirements.


Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma/ GED

 

Experience: 6 months dental assisting experience

 

Licensure/ Certification: Must receive certification of monitoring Nitrous Oxide within 6 months of employment. Must receive Certification of Coronal Polishing and application of pit and fissure sealants within 1 year of employment.

 

Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program OR minimum of 6 months experience working as a dental assistant in a dental practice

 

Experience: 2 years dental assisting experience with CDA (Certified Dental Assistant) Certification

 

Licensure/ Certification: CDA (Certified Dental Assistant) Certification or equivalent
