Description
Horizon Project is a nonprofit organization that has been helping adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1977.Â
We're looking for compassionate caregivers to help our clients in their homes and help them participate in community outings. No prior experience or certifications are required, but experience may be considered when discussing starting pay.
Pay Scale: $16 - $18.50 depending on experience
Job Duties:
- Administer client medications
- Help clients manage their money and state benefits
- Help clients shower, brush teeth, and go to the bathroom
- Assist with cooking, cleaning, and laundry
- Track overall client health and safety
- Drive clients to medical appointments
- Take clients on outings to the museum, state fair, sports games, etc
- Help clients meet their personal goals
- Work with a diverse team to ensure quality client care
- Provide care to male and female clients
Schedule:
- Options for day shift, swing shift, graveyard shift (varies based on location)
- Consistent schedule every week
- Weekend shift differential: +$1 per hour on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must pass an ODHS Criminal background check (renewed every 3 years)
- Must pass a drug test
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Must be able to use a computer (basic skills - typing, internet navigation, email)
