JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Manages the day-to-day accounting processes, ensures compliance with regulations, and provides critical financial reporting and insights to support operational decision-making. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and support the accounting team.
  • Setting clear goals and training opportunities to enhance skills.
  • Evaluating performance and providing ongoing feedback.
  • Review and approval of timesheets.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes including year-end audits.
  • Perform and manage journal entry creation, account reconciliation, and financial adjustments.
  • Implement process improvements to streamline accounting procedures and enhance accuracy.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and external regulations.
  • Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
  • Ensure proper classification and coding of expenses.
  • Prepare and analyze detailed financial and managerial reports, including variance analysis and ad hoc reporting.
  • Manage and monitor standard costing, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
  • Records entry of, verifies documentation for, and distributes petty cash. 
  • Perform routine vendor audits, including updated W9’s, tax exemption certificates, contact and banking information.
  • Additional duties as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • 2-5 Years’ Management Experience 
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and present actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills (SAP).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Manufacturing industry preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged sitting.
