What You'll Do
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will:
- Provide compassionate support and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Assist with activities of daily living including personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, housekeeping, and community participation.
- Support individuals in achieving personal goals identified in their Individual Service Plans (ISP).
- Foster independence, dignity, and self-advocacy while promoting community inclusion.
- Provide supervision, guidance, and skill-building opportunities that enhance quality of life.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment.
- Administer medications and complete required medication documentation.
- Monitor for health, safety, and behavioral concerns and respond appropriately to crisis situations.
- Transport individuals to appointments, day programs, recreational activities, religious services, family visits, and community events.
- Complete documentation accurately and timely, including daily logs, medication records, behavioral tracking, incident reports, progress notes, and other required agency records.
- Work collaboratively with Residential Managers, Lead DSPs, families, and interdisciplinary teams to support individual outcomes.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, licensing requirements, and ongoing professional development.
- Assist with maintaining compliance with agency policies, DDD regulations, HIPAA requirements, and safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of individuals and the residential program.

Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- CPI training or ability to complete CPI training prior to placement in the home.Ā
- Ability to pass required background screenings and clearances.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to document accurately and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Six months to one year of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Experience with trauma-informed care and behavioral support practices.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
Schedule
- Full-Time
- Sunday through Thursday
- Shift: 3:00 PM ā 11:00 PM
- Weekend differential pay available
- Flexibility to assist with emergency or coverage needs as required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, transfer, or assist individuals weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and reach throughout the shift.
- Ability to safely operate agency vehicles.
- Ability to provide hands-on assistance and support as needed.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
