This scope of work includes recruiting applicants, scheduling meetings and appointments, assisting with benefit plans, distributing policies & procedures, maintaining personnel records, researching applicable employment laws, assisting with payroll actions and activities, assisting in the development of personnel policies, scheduling employee performance appraisals, and assisting with relevant training. This position will entail constant contact interactions with employees. Essential Functions Policies & Procedures: Assist with research, review, editing and dissemination. Job Descriptions: Works with Human Resources Manager, administration staff, supervisors, and employees to develop job descriptions corresponding to staffing positions Performance Appraisals: Schedule evaluations, coordinate evaluation process. Personnel Records: Maintains official employment records for all employees; Creates electronic system for tracking employment-related events and activities. Coordinates employee payroll actions and activities under the direction of the Human Resources Manager. Recruitment: Develops job announcements, coordinates advertising of vacancies, acts as initial point of contact for job applicants, provides referrals to hiring managers, and schedules the employee selection process. Employee Relations: Assists Human Resources Manager with issues concerning employee relations. Miscellaneous: Other duties as assigned and within the scope of the position. QualificationsQualifications Will consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Education: Minimum: Associate’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field Experience: Minimum: Two (2) years clerical experience (emphasis in Human Resources/Benefit coordination preferred) and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience will be evaluated. Preferred: PHR, SPHR, NNAHRA Certifications, experience working with Tribal organizations. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Computer: Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Internet Explorer, etc. Ability to identify and implement Human Resources software solutions. Ability to provide guidance and instruction on the use of Human Resources software solutions. Scanning and data storage solutions experience Communication: Possesses strong written & verbal communication skills. Able to develop and deliver presentations to individuals and groups. Exercises strict confidentiality practices. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships. Skilled in the use of business communications (proper spelling/grammar). Skilled in the use of business arithmetic (accounting, etc.). Miscellaneous: Uses analytical skills to identify problems, offer solutions, and adopt appropriate courses of action. Effectively conducts research, analyzes information, and interprets data. Ability to meet deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and work well under pressure. Exercises initiative and judgment to make decisions within the scope of assigned authority. Demonstrates strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize. Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds. High level of initiative. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Work Environment: Work is generally performed in an office setting with a moderate noise level. Evening and/or weekend work may be required. Occasions may arise requiring work outdoors where exposure to natural weather conditions may occur. There is constant interaction with the public, other agencies, and employees. Tight-time constraints and multiple demands from several sources are common. Infrequent travel may be required for training, meetings, conferences, presentations, and other events.
