The Industrial Cleaning Technician safely cleans and uses high-pressure water systems to clean and maintain machinery, equipment, and surfaces using specialized tools like hydro-blasters and hazardous materials gear. Industrial cleaning requires a blend of technical expertise, physical stamina, and attention to safety protocols.
Job duties
- Operate and maintain high-pressure water jetting equipment.
- Perform surface preparation tasks using hydro-blasting techniques.
- Remove paint, coatings, and other contaminants from surfaces.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols during operations.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Coordinate with team members to complete projects efficiently.
- Document work performed and provide reports on progress and outcomes.
- Interact with clients to understand specific project requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in industrial cleaning or maintenance.
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to high-pressure water systems.
- Strong knowledge in operating equipment used in service line.
- Basic mechanical skills for equipment troubleshooting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- TWIC card for industrial plant access.
Work Conditions/ Physical Demands
- Frequent reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
- Must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and outdoor work in extreme temperatures.
