Position Overview
The Facilities Maintenance Assistant plays a key role in keeping our facilities safe, functional, and guest-ready throughout the year. Working alongside the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and maintenance team, this hands-on position assists with facility repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections, and improvement projects across the ski area.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with basic maintenance experience who wants to expand their skills in building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general facility maintenance while working in an incredible mountain setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily maintenance and repair tasks throughout the resort
- Complete preventative maintenance assignments on buildings and equipment
- Replace light bulbs and assist with lighting fixture repairs
- Support HVAC maintenance, including changing filters and routine servicing
- Perform basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs
- Assist with painting, drywall repairs, door adjustments, and other building maintenance needs
- Help maintain walkways, stairways, roofs, and outdoor facilities
- Participate in remodeling projects and facility upgrades
- Remove snow from walkways, entrances, and work areas during winter operations
- Assist with maintaining fire and life safety systems
- Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance, repair, or construction practices preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills
- Basic experience with hand and power tools
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Dependable attendance and a positive attitude
- Ability to work safely in a variety of weather conditions
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous maintenance, construction, landscaping, mechanical, or related experience preferred
- Entry-level candidates with a strong willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
- On-the-job training provided
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools
