Your responsibilities

In this role, you will lead external communications and reputation management for Verda in the US, owning both strategy and hands-on execution as we scale.

Your responsibilities include Verda's external narrative and manage media relations, executive visibility, announcements, and crisis communications. You'll cultivate relationships with journalists, analysts, and industry voices in your region, and prepare our spokespeople for interviews and public appearances.

You'll work closely with Government Relations, Marketing, Operations and our wider Communications team to keep external messaging consistent and timely, and monitor coverage and industry conversation to spot opportunities and risks.

You work as part of our Global Communications team, and report directly into our Head of Communications.

Your key competencies

  • 5+ years of experience in external communications, reputation management, media relations, corporate communications, or a related field

  • Experience working with media and journalists in the US market

  • Proven experience building programs, processes, or functions with a high degree of ownership

  • Exceptional writing, storytelling, and content creation skills

  • Ability to translate complex technical or business topics into engaging and accessible narratives

  • Experience creating content across multiple channels and formats

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence without direct authority

  • Experience working closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously

  • Data-driven mindset with experience measuring media impact, coverage quality, or reputation metrics

  • Excellent communication skills in English

Nice to have

  • Experience in a technology, cloud, AI, SaaS, or scale-up environment

  • Experience supporting executive and leadership communications

  • Experience with media training and spokesperson preparation

  • Experience managing crisis or issues communications

  • Experience with multimedia content creation, video, podcasts, or events

Practicalities

  • Location: San Francisco

  • Working mode: Hybrid, three days a week in the office
