ABOUT THE POSITION…

We’re lookin’ for someone who knows how to secure the goods. As a Receiving Supervisor, you’ll work with the warehouse team to receive and unload all inbound material, quickly count and verify contents, and ensure material is put away and stored accurately within the warehouse. POSITION DETAILS/RESPONSIBILITIES…

  • Maintaining a safe working environment by ensuring staff wears required safety gear and follows safety protocols at all times.
  • Holding self and team fully accountable to getting all inbound material received quickly and tracked accurately.
  • Ensuring trucks are unloaded efficiently and managing temp labor to help with volume increases.
  • Directing staff to count, verify, and label all boxes correctly.
  • Ensuring data in system matches physical counts and ensures all receiving paperwork is documented properly.
  • Proactively working with project managers to resolve discrepancies when shipments do not match POs or when material arrives damaged.
  • Interacting with the quality control inspector to facilitate inbound sampling and specification testing.
  • Overseeing the put-away process to ensure material is stored efficiently and clustered by project.
  • Responding to emails and phone calls quickly and following up persistently until all issues are fully resolved in a timely manner.
  • Inventorying and replenishing all receiving supplies to prevent stockouts.
  • Calibrating and maintaining equipment on schedule.
  • Taking immediate corrective action when expectations are not being met and giving public recognition to high performers.
  • Training team members to operate heavy machinery including standup forklifts, picker lifts, reach trucks, and ride-on pallet jacks.
  • Maintaining data accuracy in the warehouse management system and quickly correcting any issues.
  • Taking pride in maintaining an exceptionally clean and organized warehouse.

You will also need to be able to:

  • Lift up to 49 pounds.
  • Push utility carts up to 60 pounds.
  • Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts.
  • Use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items around.
  • Go up and down stairs (where applicable).
  • Work at a height of up to 40 feet and/or on a mezzanine (where applicable).
  • Adhere to strict safety, quality, and fulfillment production standards.

WHAT IT’S LIKE INSIDE…

  • Safety - Your safety is our top priority, so we will train you thoroughly and provide all required protective gear.
  • Surroundings - You’ll be working around moving machines including stand-up forklifts, order pickers, electric pallet jacks, stackers, scissor lifts, elevators, and mobile carts.
  • Activity - Some activities may require standing in one place for long periods, walking around, or climbing stairs.
  • Temperature – Our distribution center is air conditioned, but temperatures can vary between 60°F and 90°F in some parts of the warehouse - on hot days, temperatures can be over 90°F in the truck yard or inside trailers.
  • Noise level - It can get noisy at times, and we provide hearing protection if you need it.
  • Dress code – Clean and professional with a few rules to follow for safety - Power Design will provide collared shirts, safety vests, and an allowance of up to $100 for hard-toed shoes – employees will provide long, gray work pants and can wear a Power Design ballcap if desired – any other personal protective equipment (PPE) required for the job with be provided by Power Design at no cost to the employee.

HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR…

  • Must have at least 3-5 years of experience leading a warehouse receiving department.
  • High School, GED, or equivalent diploma required.
  • Standup forklift certification required.
  • Intermediate computer skills necessary, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to read and interpret part numbers that are often long and complex.
  • Strong math skills including counting, addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
  • Must maintain a friendly and helpful attitude at all times.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to stay as long as it takes to get the work done when volume spikes from time to time.
  • Reliable transportation to get to work on time.

  • Non-smoker.
