Coordinates food production, supervises cooks and ensures adherence to sanitation standards and hospital policies. Maintains high standards of food quality, portion control, and infection control practices. Acts as a key support to the dietary supervisor in daily operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLIITIES Supervises cooks and aids in food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and patient meal delivery Standardizes and develops new recipes Leads dietary team in weekly menu development and adjusts for patient care needs Confers with dietitian regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers if needed Ensures all meals for patients and staff are prepared, cooked and served according to established recipes and portion guidelines Serves staff meals Monitors food quality, temperature and presentation Oversees kitchen operations in teh absence of the dietary supervisor Ensures compliance with infection control and sanitation standards Trains cooks Communicates equipment repair needs to the dietary supervisor Maintains a professional appearance and enforces departmental dress code and conduct policies Supports the mission, values and goals of Osborne County Memorial Hospital Performs other duties as assigned by the dietary supervisor
