Position Summary:

As a Heavy Equipment Operator you will be responsible for safely operating a variety of heavy equipment, including the excavator, wheel loader, material handler in support of our concrete crushing, recycling, and material recovery operations.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Loading customer dump trucks with recycled aggregate materials.
  • Loading transfer trailers with C&D debris and single-stream recyclable materials.
  • Loading ferrous scrap metal into dump trailers for transport.
  • Sorting, stockpiling, and moving concrete, asphalt, scrap metal, C&D, and recyclable materials throughout the facility.
  • Performing daily equipment inspections and routine preventive maintenance, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
  • Direct customers to the proper location by material for offloading.
  • Working safely around crushers, conveyors, truck traffic, and other heavy equipment while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Performs routine maintenance on loader, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
  • Direct customers to the proper location by material for offloading.

Education

  • HS Diploma/G.E.D.

Experience and Competencies

  • 3+ years of experience  operating excavators, wheel loaders, compactors, dozers and material handlers.
  • Experience in concrete crushing, recycling, scrap metal, aggregate production, landfill, quarry, or material recovery operations.
  • Strong commitment to safety and preventive equipment maintenance.
