Job SummaryĀ
TheĀ Sr. Maintenance TechnicianĀ is a practical technical specialist who handles complex troubleshooting, repairs, and ensures the reliability of advanced automated material handling systems. This position is essential to each shift, contributing to automation uptime, and working collaboratively with Maintenance Leadership, Reliability teams, and PLC Engineering to help avoid recurring breakdowns.Ā This role provides coaching & guidance to other Maintenance Technicians II & III.Ā Ā
ResponsibilitiesĀ
Diagnose and repair complex issues across automated systems including:Ā Ā
Conveyance (MDR, belt, sortation)Ā
ASRS / shuttle systemsĀ
Pick modules, print & apply, scannersĀ
Lead response to system-down or chronic fault conditionsĀ
Perform advanced mechanical, electrical, and controls-related troubleshootingĀ
Restore equipment safely and efficiently to minimize downtime and service impactĀ
Execute and improve preventive and predictive maintenance (PM/PdM) activitiesĀ
Identify failure trends and recommend corrective actions to Maintenance LeadershipĀ
Support root cause analysis (RCA) for repeat or high-impact failuresĀ
Ensure PM work is completed to standard and documented accurately in the CMMSĀ
Serve as technical escalation point for Maintenance TechĀ II & IIIĀ
Coach and mentorĀ Maintenance Technicians II & IIIĀ on troubleshooting best practicesĀ
Support onboarding and skills development of new techniciansĀ
Model strong safety, quality, and ownership behaviors on the floorĀ
Collaboration & Continuous ImprovementĀ
Partner with:Ā Ā
PLC Engineers for controls-related issues and logic changesĀ
Reliability / AssetĀ AnalystĀ on equipment performance and lifecycle improvementsĀ
Operations during recovery, start-ups, and flow disruptionsĀ
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase uptime, throughput, and safetyĀ
Provide feedback on equipment design issues and maintainability concernsĀ
QualificationsĀ
High School Diploma or GEDĀ
Bachelor Degree preferredĀ
5+ yearsĀ of maintenance experience in an automated distribution, manufacturing, or industrial environmentĀ
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skillsĀ
Proven experience working with automated material handling equipmentĀ
Ability to read and interpret:Ā Ā
Electrical schematicsĀ
Mechanical drawingsĀ
OEM manualsĀ
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-availability operationĀ
Experience with PLC-controlled systems (troubleshooting at I/O and fault level; no programming required)Ā preferredĀ
CMMS experience (PM execution, work order documentation)Ā
Exposure to reliability concepts (MTBF, MTTR, RCA)Ā preferredĀ
Technical certifications or trade school background (electrical, mechatronics, industrial maintenance)Ā preferredĀ

Advanced troubleshooting and critical thinkingĀ
Strong sense of urgency and ownershipĀ
Ability to remain calm and methodical during system outagesĀ
Clear communication with both technical and non-technical partnersĀ

Hiring Range:
$35.20 USD - $44.00 USD per hourIncentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, orĀ commissionĀ potential.
