CNC Machine Operator

Hartman Enterprises, Inc. is a third-generation, family-owned precision machining company located in Oneida, NY. We are a precision job shop serving industries including aerospace and defense, which means our team works on a variety of parts and projects rather than repetitive production work.
We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented CNC Machine Operator who takes pride in quality work and wants to continue developing their machining skills.
Responsibilities

Operate CNC mills and/or lathes safely and efficiently after setup is complete.

Load and unload parts, materials, fixtures, and tooling.

Follow job travelers, setup sheets, work instructions, and production documentation.

Read blueprints and understand dimensional tolerances.

Perform in-process inspection using calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators, and other measuring equipment.

Monitor machine operation for tool wear, alarms, defects, or abnormal conditions.

Make basic tool wear offsets when trained and authorized.

Communicate tooling, dimensional, machine, or quality concerns to the appropriate team member.

Maintain accurate production and inspection records.

Deburr parts as required.

Keep machines and work areas clean and organized.

Follow all company safety, quality, AS9100, and ISO procedures.
Qualifications

Previous CNC machine operation experience preferred.

Ability to safely operate CNC equipment once trained and setup is complete.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, dimensions, and tolerances.

Experience using precision measuring tools preferred.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Dependable attendance and ability to work independently once trained.

Willingness to learn and follow established procedures.
Preferred Experience
-
Aerospace, defense, medical, or other precision manufacturing experience.
-
Mazak, Doosan, Fanuc, or similar CNC controls.

CNC mills, lathes, mill-turn, or multi-axis equipment.

Strong blueprint-reading skills and ability to interpret dimensions and tolerances.

AS9100 or ISO 9001 experience.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand for extended periods, work around CNC equipment, bend and reach as required, and safely lift or move materials, tooling, fixtures, and parts up to 50 lbs.
Position requires sufficient visual acuity and manual dexterity to inspect parts, read measuring equipment, handle tooling, and operate CNC controls safely.
Work Environment
This position works in a precision CNC machine shop around machining equipment, metal chips, coolant, oils, tooling, fixtures, and material-handling equipment. Required PPE and all company safety procedures must be followed.
ITAR Requirement
Due to the nature of our work, applicants must meet ITAR eligibility requirements and qualify as a U.S. Person as defined by applicable regulations.
Schedule
Day Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Overtime and occasional weekends may be available or required based on production needs.
