Responsible for producing customized rebar products based on work orders, tags, and customer specifications while meeting company quality standards. Independently operates rebar equipment, checks accuracy of work, and helps keep production running smoothly. Handles materials and prepares finished products for shipment in an industrial enviornment.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Fabricates reinforcing steel (rebar) products based on work orders and rebar tag specifications, including correct bar size, bends, quantities, and dimensions, with minimal supervision.

  • Prepares, operates, and makes basic adjustments to rebar fabrication equipment such as shears, benders, and automated machines to ensure quality output.

  • Organizes, stacks, bands, and stages fabricated materials to support efficient production flow.

  • Inspects finished materials using visual checks and standard measurements to confirm accuracy and compliance with specifications.

  • Identifies defects or issues, performs basic troubleshooting, and adjusts processes as needed to maintain quality standards.

  • Prepares completed products for shipment by properly bracing, padding, and strapping materials to prevent damage during transport.

  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area; follows company safety policies; participates in safety training; and promptly reports hazards.

  • Performs work in both indoor and outdoor environments and adapts to varying weather conditions as required.

Nature and Scope

  • Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.

  • Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.

Work Environment

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical environment. Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes. Ability to make repetitive movements, such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting.

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

  • Performs duties in an outdoor environment with regular exposure to temperature extremes, mechanical equipment, high noise levels, and airborne particulates, necessitating compliance with established safety standards and procedures.

Education and Experience

  • HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally, 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in rebar fabrication, manufacturing, or a related production environment with growing proficiency in core processes.

  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and rebar tags with accuracy.

  • Experience operating fabrication machinery and making basic adjustments as needed.

  • Forklift and/or overhead crane certification required, where applicable, with ability to safely handle materials.

  • Consistent use of required PPE and adherence to established safety standards.
