Job Summary: This is a clerical and coordination role supporting a production and fabrication department, reporting to the Production Manager. You'll coordinate customer repair, fabrication, and modification work from initial request through completion, serving as the main point of contact between customers and the shop floor, including welders, production technicians, engineering, and parts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Open, maintain, and close production work orders accurately and on time
- Coordinate workflow and communication among welders, production technicians, engineering, and parts
- Track active jobs and help ensure work progresses on schedule and within customer commitments
- Communicate estimates, change orders, and revised completion timelines to customers
- Obtain and document customer authorization before proceeding with additional work
- Maintain accurate customer, equipment, and job records in company systems
- Coordinate with engineering and parts and purchasing on technical requirements and material needs
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, technical or vocational coursework a plus
- Prior service writing, production coordination, or administrative experience in heavy equipment, fabrication, welding, or a similar industrial environment preferred
- Strong computer skills, experience with Karmak or similar service management software a plus
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
