Position Summary The MIG Welder I is an entry-level welding position responsible for welding components used in lift kits, suspension systems, and related products. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their welding skills in a production manufacturing environment. MIG Welder I employees will receive training on company welding procedures, quality requirements, and visual inspection criteria. Welders are responsible for the quality and consistency of the work they produce and are expected to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Candidates must successfully pass a company weld test and basic dimensional inspection test. Key Responsibilities Perform MIG welding on components used in lift kits, suspension systems, and related products. Work under the direction of the Shift or Team Lead to meet production and quality requirements. Follow established welding procedures, specifications, and visual inspection criteria. Inspect completed work and take responsibility for the quality of welds produced. Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and regulations. Maintain expected productivity while meeting established quality standards. Learn to read and understand basic blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Check part dimensions against blueprints to ensure proper fitment and quality. Use basic measuring tools to verify part dimensions. Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic upkeep of welding equipment as required. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow established 5S standards and complete required end-of-shift work-area inspections. Identify and report equipment, quality, or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor. Perform other related duties as assigned. QualificationsSkills & Qualifications Entry-level welding experience or training preferred. Must successfully pass a company weld test. Must successfully pass a basic dimensional inspection test. Basic understanding of MIG welding principles and techniques preferred. Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to understand mechanical concepts. Ability and willingness to learn to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Ability to learn and use measuring tools to verify part dimensions and fitment. Basic math skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Good verbal communication skills. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Dependable with a strong record of attendance and punctuality. Ability and willingness to learn new skills, processes, and equipment. Ability to maintain established productivity and quality standards. Trade school or welding certificate preferred but not required. Relevant education, training, or hands-on experience will be considered. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move approximately 40–60 pounds as required. Ability to stand for the duration of the scheduled shift. Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive movements associated with production welding. Ability to safely operate welding equipment, hand tools, and other equipment required for the position. Work Environment This position works in a manufacturing and welding environment. Employees are required to follow all company safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
