Overview
Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer in support of the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center Combatant Command, Command and Control (C2) Division (AFNWC/NCC).
This is a full-time position located at Offutt AFB, NE
Responsibilities
- Review, prepare, and analyze a variety of documentation: Planning, requirements, design, support and test. Also to include source code, configuration files and engineering resolution support.
- Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
- Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
- Improve operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures.
- Acquiring and licensing software by obtaining required information from vendors; recommending purchases; testing and approving products.
- Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues
- Perform Software Quality Assurance (SQA) to ensure that developed software meets and complies with defined or standardized quality specifications.
- Work as a member of an agile software development team. Performing some mix of the below tasks as directed by the government team lead or engineering lead.
- Elaborate high level feature/function descriptions into detailed technical designs and tasks, in collaboration with users and government lead engineers.
- Perform coding tasks for features/functions.
- Perform coding tasks for functional and performance tests for features/functions.
- Perform peer design and code reviews with other team members.
- Perform coding/scripting tasks for software build, packaging and deployment
- Perform other software engineering and documentation tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS w/SCI eligibilityCertifications: Sec+ CE, or IAM II or DOD 8140 Level II
Education: High School DiplomaYears of Experience: Minimum of 15 years relevant experience to include:
- 5 years supporting the DoD
- System analysis and development of system specifications
- Integrate user community requirements, desired capabilities and characteristics to support injection into the requirements/capability’s generation, planning and programming processes and documents
- Providing technical reviews of design and development specifications of software applications and systems and other engineering artifacts and develop or maintain those artifacts as required in systems engineering process
