JOB FUNCTIONS: Operates a variety of machines and hand tools to build, sand, laminates and assemble more complex cabinets, galleys and doors. Notifies group leader of any defects by visual and manual examination.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Receives verbal daily work order from group leader.
  2. Assembles more complex precut parts from CNC, following instructions from drawing books.
  3. Uses a variety hand tools and saws for assembly .
  4. Fits prefabricated wooden parts together.
  5. Trims and smoothes parts to fits using hand tools and sandpaper.
  6. Inserts screws or dowels in predrilled holes and fastens parts together with screwdriver, clamps and glue.
  7. Visually inspects Formica to determine good or bad side before laminating.
  8. Laminates Formica doors, cabinets and galleys.
  9. Installs hardware and accessories, such as hinges, latches, knobs and mirrors.
  10. Visually and manually inspects parts to insure correct quantity and quality are met.
  11. Cleans product after assembly.
  12. Notifies group leader of any problems with equipment.
  13. Informs group leader, supervisor or any other management associate of any safety issue.
  14. Informs appropriate department, group leader and/or management associate of any

product shortage, defect, delays or any other problem that affects shipment to customer.

 

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSBILITES:

  1. Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  2. Performs other duties as assigned by management.
  3. Builds temporary jigs and fixtures under the direction of the group leader.

 

QUALIFICATION: Previous wood working experience required. Lifting up to 50 lbs. Manual dexterity is required. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to read tape measure in inches. Requires ability to work in extreme temperature conditions. Ability to understand and follow directions.
