The Account Manager quotes renewal business inĀ a timely, efficient,Ā professional,Ā andĀ accurateĀ manner, all the while responsible for growing revenues. This position interacts with company and retail agent personnel in a diplomatic and knowledgeable mannerĀ in order toĀ establishĀ positive relationships, increase revenues, andĀ retainĀ policies uponĀ expiration. In concert with other renewal business underwriters,Ā isĀ responsible for production and profitability results of the renewal business segment of the commercial department.Ā 

   

How You Will Contribute:   

  • Process renewal property casualty business inĀ a timelyĀ and efficient manner to grow revenues andĀ maintainĀ retention and profitability.Ā Ā Ā 

  • Examines such documents as application forms, inspection reports, insurance maps, and medical reports toĀ determineĀ degree of risk from such factors as applicant financial standing, age, occupation, accident experience, and value and condition of property. RequestsĀ additionalĀ information, if necessary, and accepts or rejects risks in conformance with company guidelines.Ā Ā Ā 

  • Underwrites renewal business by reviewingĀ insured’sĀ files, producing agency experience, nature and frequency of losses and prior carrier loss experience.Ā Ā Ā 

  • Ensure that all required information is obtained, proper applications are completed, quotes and binders are confirmed in writing, policies are issued promptly and accurately, state filings (where applicable) are made, and taxes paidĀ in accordance withĀ appropriate stateĀ laws.Ā Ā Ā 

  • Review, analyze and underwrite risks submitted by Producers, rate submissions for premium and terms, analyze exposures for quotes and renewal business, issue written indications, quotes and binders; use inspection companies to obtain further information, quote rates, or explain company underwriting policies.Ā Ā Ā 

  • Markets andĀ meetsĀ with retail agency customers to develop business and cultivate relationships to grow a book of business. Foster and improve relationships with other departments, producers, companies, and competitors.Ā Ā Ā 

  • Understand and extend Company facilities,Ā utilizingĀ binding authorities or brokering risks whenĀ requiredĀ to successfully negotiate a placement;Ā be responsible forĀ your underwriting results.Ā Ā Ā 

  • Service and perpetuate existingĀ businessesĀ and have a keen awareness of priorities.Ā Ā Ā 

  • AssistĀ in the training of other personnel as directed, not limited to instructing and training processors and assistants, review indications, quotes, binders, submissions, and policies for completeness and accuracy.Ā

Licenses and Certifications:    

  • Active Property Casualty License or successfully complete Property Casualty licensing requirements within 90-days ofĀ hire-dateĀ (preferred).Ā

Skills & Experience to Be Successful:   

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A) from four-year college or university or equivalent industry experience. (preferred)Ā Ā 

  • Minimum educationĀ requiredĀ HighĀ School Diploma or GED.Ā Ā Ā 

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.Ā 

  • Exceptional telephone demeanor.Ā 

  • Ability toĀ maintainĀ a high levelĀ of confidentiality.Ā 

  • 2 – 3 years' experience in a similar position (preferred).Ā

Pay Range

$55,000 - $65,000 Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
