As an HSE Technician II, you will serve as a key field and administrative resource supporting Health, Safety, and Environmental programs across construction, maintenance, turnaround, and industrial project environments.

This role provides the opportunity to work directly with craft professionals, supervisors, project leadership, and contractors to reinforce safe work practices, conduct inspections, support incident management activities, and promote a culture where safety and accountability are integrated into daily operations. Your commitment to workforce engagement, hazard recognition, and operational excellence will directly contribute to project success and employee wellbeing.

Purpose of the role

The HSE Technician II provides field and administrative Health, Safety, and Environmental support to project teams and Worley leadership. You will assist in implementing project HSE programs, conducting inspections and audits, supporting incident investigations, and helping ensure employees and contractors understand and comply with applicable safety and environmental requirements.

Working under general supervision, you will perform a variety of moderately complex HSE assignments that require independent judgment, strong communication skills, and a practical understanding of workplace hazards and risk mitigation. You will support the continuous improvement of project HSE performance by promoting positive safety behaviors, monitoring compliance, and assisting project teams in achieving their safety objectives.

You will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring workforce compliance with safety procedures, permit requirements, and site-specific work practices.
  • Supporting incident, injury, near miss, and environmental event reporting activities.
  • Assisting with incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action tracking.
  • Maintaining HSE records, reports, inspection documentation, training records, and compliance information.
  • Supporting toolbox meetings, safety briefings, workforce engagement activities, and HSE campaigns.
  • Coaching employees and contractors on safe work practices, hazard recognition, and behavioral expectations.
  • Assisting with risk assessments, job safety analyses (JSA), hazard assessments, and work planning activities.
  • Supporting emergency response preparedness and participation in drills and exercises as required.
  • Monitoring project activities to identify opportunities for improved HSE performance and workforce engagement.
  • Assisting with regulatory compliance activities and implementation of company HSE requirements.
  • Supporting environmental stewardship initiatives and workplace housekeeping programs.
  • Preparing routine reports, safety statistics, presentations, and performance summaries.
  • Providing guidance and work direction to project personnel when appropriate.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen project HSE performance.
