Job DetailsJob Location: Longmeadow, MA 01106Position Type: Part-Time StaffSalary Range: $15.00 - $15.50 HourlySupervisor: Student Activities and Transportation Coordinator Status: Part-time Hours: Flexible Job Location: Longmeadow Campus Exempt (Yes/No): No     JOB SUMMARY:  Safely transport Bay Path University students, faculty and staff to and from various locations on and off campus.   ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Safely transport students, faculty and staff to and from various locations on and off campus in a prompt and courteous manner. Be accessible to passengers during trips and available for assistance in the event of an emergency. Handle vehicle problems and assist in the event of an accident. Report any vehicle problems, repairs or maintenance needs via pre and post trip inspection paperwork and verbally to direct supervisor and/or maintenance / facilities. Communicate with Student Activities and Transportation Coordinator upon return of student trips to inform of problems or issues that occurred during the trip. Fuel vehicle upon return from trip. Removal of trash and minor cleanup of vehicle at conclusion of each shift. Attend trainings as required. Other duties as assigned.   OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to work flexible hours. If you operate a University owned, leased or personal vehicle at any time while performing your duties you must follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Operations Manual. Additionally, you must report any driving offense, on or off company time, which causes a loss, suspension, or any other change in your license status. You must report this change within one business day of the offense. You can report this change to the Human Resource Department or your direct supervisor. Failure to do so can lead to disciplinary action, up to and including terminations.   This list of essential job functions and other responsibilities is representative of those duties and responsibilities that are required of this position. Strong communication and customer service skills. Attention to detail and punctuality critical. Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move heavy objects. Ability to walk up and down stairs as necessary. Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling and walking significant distances between and within university buildings. Ability to perform duties in extreme temperature ranges and weather conditions. Sufficient manual dexterity in both hands and feet to safely operate motor vehicle. Visual ability corrected, to observe and detect signs of dangerous obstacles and to verify written information either at a distance and/or at close range. Audio ability corrected, to hear emergency alerts and other audible alarms.   This position requires sitting, walking, and standing. Must be able to lift in excess of 50 lbs (though rarely) and work in uncontrolled climate areas.   Qualifications  QUALIFICATIONS: Valid driver’s license. Must successfully pass the online safe Driving Course and driving record check at time of hire and annually thereafter. Must successfully pass safe driving course within 30-days of employment. Failure to successfully complete the course within the 30-day period is grounds for immediate termination. Submit to and pass criminal offender records check (C.O.R.I.) Submit to and pass pre-employment drug screening and/or physical duties test. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. General knowledge of the University’s mission, purpose and goals and the role this position plays in achieving those goals.
