Job Description
MEMBERSHIP CLERK
RESPONSIBLE TO: Club Director
GENERAL FUNTION:
The Membership Clerk is responsible for seeing that boys and girls complete theÂ
membership process, membership record keeping and general supervision.Â
Responsible for assuring members are picked up only by authorized individuals.
KNOW HOW:
Must be able to maintain accurate records and enforce Boys & Girls Club rules andÂ
policies in a fair and equitable manner.
JOB SEGMENTS:
1. Reception and Registration of Memberships including collecting dues and issuingÂ
Membership Cards.
2. Maintain Safe Passage policy without exception.Â
3. Learn and use KidTrax or other software for maintenance of current MembershipÂ
Records of all members; maintenance of Membership Statistics and recording dailyÂ
attendance.
4. Introduce New Members and encourage them to participate in Club Activities andÂ
make all members feel welcome.
5. Enforce Club rules and Policies to both Members and Guests.
6. Assist in the conduct of Programs and Activities.
7. Act as an information center for questions about the club.
8. Answer the telephone, take messages, and provide a good public image for all whoÂ
call.
9. Greet all visitors to the Club and direct them to the proper person or area.
10.Sell concession items.
11.Participate in Staff Meetings and Conferences.Â
12.Control entrance to the building both inside and outside.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:Â
• Walking–throughout workday, required to monitor members as they participate.Â
• Talking – required to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word.Â
• Hearing – frequently required to work in a moderately loud environment.
• Sight – position requires both close and distance visual acuity for computer work andÂ
monitoring members
• Standing – required to stand for sustained periods of time.Â
• Sitting – occasionally required to sit for extended periods of time.Â
• Bending – occasionally required to bend (picking items up off of the floor, assisting inÂ
set-up and break down tables).
• Use of hands/fingers – occasionally required to type for extended periods of timeÂ
(answering emails, writing reports, creating program documents, etc.).Â
• Lifting – occasionally required to lift/move items up to 20 pounds.
• Skills essential for successful communication include speaking and writing.Â
• Worker will be subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions.
