Salary Range: $75,344.50 - $108,554.60 ANNUAL

JOB SUMMARY:  The Human Resources Generalist serves as a strategic partner to management and employees, responsible for the daily oversight of recruitment, onboarding, performance, talent management, training, development and system support. This role involves leading HR initiatives, mentoring junior HR staff, and driving programs that enhance employee engagement, performance, and organizational effectiveness. This position supervises the Human Resources Coordinator and Talent Acquisition Specialist.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The following duties are typical for this position. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

  1. Supervise the daily recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management activities and oversees the daily schedule, assignments and workflow of personnel in this group.
  2. Supervise all full-cycle recruitment and collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  3. Supervise recruitment and onboarding process to ensure smooth integration of new employees and serves as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
  4. Prepare and submit compliance reports, to include but not limited to Affirmative Action Plan spreadsheets and VETS-4212. 
  5. Oversee the internship and mentorship programs.
  6. Responsible for new hire and separation processing.
  7. Responsible for unemployment claims.
  8. Assist in reviewing, updating and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  9. Analyze HR metrics to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  10. Prepare reports for senior leadership on workforce performance and engagement.
  11. Ensure accurate employee records in HRIS.
  12. Handle HRIS employment-related inquiries, requests and concerns from employees. Resolves administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
  13. Mentor junior HR team members and provide guidance on complex HR matters.
  14. Lead HR projects and initiatives to improve processes and employee experience.
  15. Performs all other duties as assigned and directed.
  16. Administer and adhere to all Authority policies and guidelines.

  1. HR Expertise: In-depth knowledge of employment laws, compliance requirements and HR best practices.
  2. Strategic Thinking: Ability to align HR initiatives with organizational goals and contribute to workforce planning.
  3. Employee Relations: Skilled in handling complex employee issues, conflict resolution, and fostering a positive work environment.
  4. Analytical Skills: Proficient in interpreting HR data, identifying trends, and recommending actionable solutions.
  5. Communication & Influence: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
  6. Project Management: Capable of leading HR projects, managing timelines, and delivering results effectively.
  7. Ethical Judgment & Confidentiality: Maintains integrity and discretion in all HR matters.
  8. Technology Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  9. Change Management: Ability to support and guide organizational change initiatives.
  10. Coaching & Development: Skilled in mentoring managers and junior HR staff to enhance performance and growth.

EDUCATION/TRAINING

  1. Degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.

EXPERIENCE: 

  1. Five (5) years of progressive HR experience, including generalist responsibilities. 
  2. Two (2) years of experience in a supervisory position. 

CERTIFICATIONS: 

  1. Human Resources certification required or must be able to obtain a SHRM-CP or PHR within 6 months of employment.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  1. Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility to hold a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge as may be required by assigned job duties and responsibilities.
  2. Successful completion of both pre-employment written examination and physical agility testing.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION: Phone system, fax, copier, shredder, computer, laptop, projector.
