Job purpose


Serve as the primary ambassador and coordination lead during the pre-operations phase of projects. Following project award, will assume responsibility for all pre-operational coordination activities and serve as the central point of contact until the project is transitioned to the Operations team.

Responsible for ensuring project estimates, engineering reviews, submittals, manufacturer registrations, rebates, shop drawings, and project documentation are completed accurately, professionally, and in accordance with project specifications and customer requirements.

Essential responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Organize and lead pre-operations scope review meetings with the Account Manager and all applicable team members involved during the estimating phase.
  • Review project scope, specifications, special requirements, schedules, and customer expectations prior to operational turnover.
  • Confirm communications (COM) estimates to ensure accuracy, completeness, compliance with specifications, proper material selection and scope alignment.
  • Coordinate estimate review assignments with SEC, AV, DAS, NET, and other discipline engineers associated with the project.
  • Ensure all engineering reviews are completed prior to the initiation of the submittal process.
  • Verifying all required products, systems, and manufacturer requirements are accurately represented within the estimate
  • Register projects and maintain accurate tracking documentation for manufacturer Opportunity Incentive Programs (OIP), rebates, and special pricing programs when project thresholds are met and monitor status to ensure timely submissions.
  • Assign submittal preparation tasks and provide direction to the Pre-Construction Coordinator regarding applicable disciplines, approved estimates, required product data and customer specific requirement.
  • CAD and Shop Drawing coordination and review.
  • Maintain the company’s high standards of quality and professionalism with regards to workmanship, customer relations, and team members.
  • Adhere to all required project specific as well as company safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.
  • Regular and prompt attendance and punctuality.
  • Able to work overtime as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School or GED mandatory minimum.
  • Experience in structured cabling, low-voltage systems, or construction project coordination.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software
  • Experience coordinating CAD/shop drawing activities
  • Strong understanding of construction specifications and submittal processes
  • Knowledge of construction documentation standards and project lifecycle processes

Working Environment

A significant portion of the work is in buildings under construction but also includes established businesses and offices. Some require outdoor work especially for cabling installation and access control/video surveillance systems.

Physical requirements

The job requires heavy physical activity, including bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting moderately heavy equipment. Climbing ladders, stooping, crawling, and balancing may also be required, especially in confined spaces. Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds unassisted. Requires superb hand/eye coordination while using automated tools and equipment. Noise levels can be high depending on work site and/or work tools used.
