Position Overview:
Grand View Lodge is looking for a dependable, energetic Grounds Worker to help keep our resort property looking great and running smoothly for our guests. This is a hands-on, active role where no two days look exactly the same; you'll operate equipment and machinery, water and maintain flowers and plantings, collect garbage and recyclables across the property, deliver firewood to guest cabins and common areas, and respond to service requests through our ALICE ticketing system. The grounds team is a critical part of the guest experience, and the work you do shows up everywhere guests look and everywhere they go.

Duties & Responsibilities:Â
- Operate resort machinery and equipment safely and responsibly; following all recommended safety precautions for each tool and machine used on property.
- Water flowers, maintain planting beds, and support the overall appearance of resort landscaping across all areas of the property.
- Collect garbage and recyclables from guest areas, cabins, and common spaces throughout the day; keeping the resort clean and guest-ready at all times.
- Deliver firewood to guest cabins, fire pits, and common areas promptly and with a friendly, helpful attitude.
- Mow lawns and maintain turf areas across the resort property on a regular schedule.Â
- Support ongoing landscaping upkeep; trimming, edging, weeding, and general care of planted areas and green spaces.Â
- Contribute to the overall appearance and upkeep of the resort; you take pride in keeping Grand View Lodge looking its best for every guest, every day.
- Monitor and respond to service requests through the ALICE ticketing system, completing tasks efficiently and updating ticket status accurately.
- Drive resort vehicles to transport supplies, firewood, equipment, and materials across the property as needed.
- Identify supply needs and communicate them to your supervisor; assist with ordering as directed.
- Maintain vehicles and equipment used in daily grounds operations.
- Communicate openly with your crew, supervisor, and other resort departments; support other teams with additional duties as assigned.
- This is a resort hospitality role; availability on weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak seasons is required.
What you bring:
- A valid driver's license with a clean record; required; if licensed in another state, must be eligible to obtain an appropriate Minnesota license.
- Comfort operating equipment and machinery; prior grounds, landscaping, or resort operations experience is a plus.
- Basic familiarity with ALICE or similar property service ticketing systems preferred; willingness to learn required.
- Physical stamina to be on your feet for 6–7 hours, walking, lifting, reaching, and bending throughout a full outdoor shift; ability to occasionally lift over 50 lbs.
- A positive, can-do attitude; you show up ready to work, take initiative, and pitch in wherever needed.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work flexible hours to meet the pace of a busy resort.
- Basic ability to read chemical labels and submit clear written reports or assessments as needed.
