Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the daily oversight and administration of human resources operations for a luxury independent hotel environment. This role focuses heavily on employee benefits administration, H-2B workforce coordination, recruiting and onboarding, legal compliance, and maintaining organized, accurate employee records and HR processes.
This position supports both hourly and management team members while helping ensure the hotel remains compliant with all applicable employment laws and operational standards. The role requires strong organization, discretion, follow-through, and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally across departments.
Primary Responsibilities
Benefits Administration
Administer employee health, dental, vision, and related benefit programsÂ
Coordinate annual renewals, open enrollment, and employee education meetingsÂ
Serve as liaison with insurance brokers and benefit providersÂ
Ensure accurate enrollment, deductions, qualifying event changes, COBRA administration, and terminationsÂ
Audit benefit eligibility and enrollment records regularlyÂ
Assist employees with benefit questions and enrollment paperworkÂ
Ensure all benefit-related documentation is properly completed and submitted on time
H-2B Program Administration
Coordinate onboarding and compliance for H-2B employeesÂ
Maintain organized records for petitions, visas, arrival documentation, housing documentation, transportation reimbursements, and onboarding paperworkÂ
Liaise with immigration attorneys, government agencies, and internal department leadersÂ
Communicate regularly with corresponding partner properties and international contacts regarding H-2B employee coordination and timingÂ
Coordinate employee arrivals, onboarding timelines, housing paperwork, and required documentationÂ
Coordinate seasonal employee housing readiness prior to arrivals, including furnishings, inspections, and move-in preparationÂ
Serve as a point of contact for H-2B housing-related questions, concerns, and logistical mattersÂ
Coordinate internally with housekeeping, engineering, and operations teams regarding housing needs and maintenanceÂ
Assist with housing assignments, lease documentation, and employee move-in/move-out coordinationÂ
Help ensure seasonal housing remains compliant, organized, and professionally maintained throughout the seasonÂ
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to the H-2B programÂ
Track visa dates, expirations, reimbursements, and required noticesÂ
Assist with H-2B recruiting coordination and seasonal staffing logisticsÂ
Recruiting & Hiring
Manage job postings across hiring platformsÂ
Screen applicants and coordinate interviews with department headsÂ
Conduct initial candidate interviews and reference checksÂ
Maintain organized applicant tracking and hiring recordsÂ
Coordinate onboarding documentation and new hire processesÂ
Ensure all required employment documents are completed accuratelyÂ
Support hiring efforts for seasonal and year-round positions
Onboarding & Orientation
Conduct new hire orientation for all employeesÂ
Review company policies, handbook acknowledgments, benefits information, and onboarding requirements with new hiresÂ
Ensure all onboarding paperwork and compliance documents are completed accurately prior to the start dateÂ
Help introduce new employees to department leaders, workplace expectations, and company standardsÂ
Coordinate orientation schedules and onboarding communication with department managers
HR Compliance & Employee Records
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment lawsÂ
Monitor and communicate changes in minimum wage laws and labor requirementsÂ
Ensure employee files, I-9s, onboarding documents, acknowledgments, and required postings are complete and compliantÂ
Conduct regular audits of HR records and onboarding documentationÂ
Assist leadership with policy administration and handbook complianceÂ
Support workers’ compensation and unemployment documentation processesÂ
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee informationÂ
Help ensure operational compliance with hospitality employment standards and practices
Employee Relations & HR Support
Serve as a resource for employee questions and HR-related concernsÂ
Assist with onboarding and orientation processesÂ
Help coordinate trainings, acknowledgments, and compliance communicationsÂ
Support management with documentation and follow-up related to employee mattersÂ
Promote a professional, organized, and service-oriented work environment
Qualifications
Previous Human Resources experience requiredÂ
Hospitality experience requiredÂ
Experience with H-2B programs or seasonal workforce management preferredÂ
Knowledge of employment laws, HR compliance, benefits administration, and onboarding practicesÂ
Strong organizational and administrative skillsÂ
Ability to manage confidential information professionally and discreetlyÂ
Strong communication and interpersonal skillsÂ
Experience working with onboarding systems preferredÂ
Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and accountability
Position Details
