Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Newark Local - Newark, OH 43055Position Type: Full TimeTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: DayPOSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for supporting the safe, clean, functional, and well-maintained condition of LCFYMCA facilities and grounds. Performs routine facility maintenance, minor repairs, preventative maintenance, seasonal outdoor maintenance, and facility setup for programs and events. Monitors facility conditions, identifies maintenance and safety concerns, and responds to work requests as needed. In the absence of the primary custodian, performs assigned custodial duties to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the facility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following, other duties may be assigned: Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the facility and grounds. Inspect buildings, equipment, fixtures, safety equipment, building systems, and facility areas to identify maintenance needs and potential safety concerns. Complete general facility repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, doors, locks, furniture, equipment, fixtures, and furnishings. Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner. Assist with preventative maintenance schedules and maintain accurate records of completed work. Maintain safe, functional, and attractive interior and exterior facility spaces. Assist with seasonal maintenance, including snow and ice removal, landscaping, weather-related preparations, and other outdoor tasks as needed. Set up, move, and take down tables, chairs, equipment, and other items for programs, events, and facility activities. Monitor facility conditions and promptly report significant maintenance needs, hazards, incidents, or equipment failures to the appropriate supervisor. Coordinate with outside contractors and service providers when directed. Safely operate motorized and stationary equipment as needed. In the absence of the primary custodian, maintain the cleanliness of LCFYMCA facilities by completing duties listed on the daily schedule, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window cleaning, vacuuming, and refilling restroom and locker room dispensers. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months related experience required. Ability to work under limited supervision. Basic mechanical abilities. Demostrated experience and knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment. Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use. Ability to read and interpret manuals and instructions.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
