Bring cutting-edge science to life for the next generation.

Are you a biology or STEM educator who loves making complex science understandable and exciting? Or a scientist with a passion for teaching and engaging young learners?

ChristianaCare’s Gene Editing Institute (GEI) is seeking an Education Program Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of Gene Editing 360™, an innovative education and outreach program that gives students and educators hands-on learning experiences centered on CRISPR gene editing, molecular biology, and biotechnology.

This is an opportunity to take your scientific knowledge beyond the traditional classroom or laboratory and help students experience some of today’s most exciting advances in science.

What You’ll Do

In this highly visible, hands-on role, you will:

  • Lead and deliver engaging, laboratory-based workshops for high school students, educators, and community partners.

  • Translate CRISPR gene editing, molecular biology, and biotechnology concepts into accessible, meaningful learning experiences.

  • Coordinate programming with schools, teachers, and community organizations and build relationships that expand Gene Editing 360™.

  • Maintain and enhance curriculum, case studies, hands-on activities, and other educational resources.

  • Partner with GEI scientists and researchers to bring current science into educational programming.

  • Manage workshop preparation, laboratory materials, equipment, supplies, and program logistics.

  • Support grant-funded initiatives, track program outcomes, and use participant and educator feedback to continuously improve the learning experience.

  • Provide guidance to interns, volunteers, and other program support staff and represent GEI at presentations, conferences, and outreach events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, molecular biology, biotechnology, education, or a related scientific discipline.

  • Master’s degree or postgraduate certificate in STEM, education, or business and experience developing STEM education or outreach programs are preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in research, STEM education, program management, or a combination of these areas required.

  • Strong knowledge of biological sciences and hands-on laboratory concepts, with the ability to learn and communicate gene editing, genomics, and biotechnology.

  • Demonstrated ability to teach or communicate scientific concepts to diverse audiences, particularly students and educators.

CHRISTIANACARE OFFERS:

  • Full Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, etc.

  • Two retirement planning offerings, including 403(b) with company contributions.

  • Generous paid time off with annual roll-over and opportunities to cash out.

  • 12 week paid parental leave.

  • Tuition assistance.

  • Incredible Work/Life benefits including annual membership to care.com, access to backup care services for dependents through Care@Work, retirement planning services, financial mentorship, fitness and wellness reimbursement, and great discounts through several vendors for hotels, rental cars, theme parks, shows, sporting events, movie tickets and much more!

If you’re a biology or STEM educator ready to expand your impact beyond one classroom, or a scientist who is passionate about inspiring the next generation—we’d love to hear from you.

Join the Gene Editing Institute and help students move beyond learning about science to experiencing it.
