What You Will Do:
GFT is seeking a Project Architect to join our Architecture Team in New York City, NY!
This role follows requiring regular attendance at our NYCÂ office.

What you’ll be challenged to do:
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and exposure to a wide variety of public sector projects, including but not limited to K-12, rail & transit, infrastructure projects and public works.Â
Â
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Lead/assist a project team in the development of architectural design and the preparation of construction documents including drawings and specifications.
- Communicate with clients, consultants, vendors, and contractors to ensure coordination of project requirements and collaborate as necessary.
- Responsible for product research and coordinating technical aspects of the design of a project.
- Keep Project Manager and Principals informed of progress, issues and/or need for assistance.
- Follow corporate and/or client standards for project production and review.
- Ability to work both collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
- Ability to work on multiple assignments and manage time effectively to meet project deliverables.
- Develop presentations, designs and technical solutions through all phases of a project.
- Produce conceptual renderings for project and presentation purposes.
- Experience with construction support including review of shop drawings, RFI’s, site inspection and reports.
Education | Experience:
What you will bring to our firm:Â
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture is required
- New York registered Architect is a requirement for this role
- 10 or more years of experience in architecture design and preparation of construction documents.
- Experience with public sector projects.
- Experience working on projects for the School Construction Authority is a plus.
- Detailed knowledge of current International Building Codes, NFPA, ADA, LEED, and knowledge of related standards such as ANSI, ASTM, ASHRAE etc.
- Highly proficient in REVIT Building Information Modeling Architecture with experience in both design and construction documentation is required.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite.
- Must be able to work effectively in team situations and establish strong relationships with other teams where overlap of client project work exists.Â

Salary: $135,000-$155,000
