About the Role:

The NYC DDC position is a critical role within the New York City Department of Design and Construction, responsible for overseeing and managing public infrastructure projects that enhance the city's built environment. The major end result of this role is to ensure the successful planning, design, and execution of construction projects that meet quality, safety, and budgetary standards while serving the needs of the community. This position requires collaboration with multiple stakeholders including city agencies, contractors, architects, and engineers to deliver projects on time and within scope. The role demands a strategic approach to problem-solving and resource management to address challenges that arise during project lifecycles. Ultimately, the NYC DDC professional contributes to the sustainable development and improvement of New York City's public facilities and infrastructure, impacting millions of residents and visitors.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the construction or public infrastructure sector.
  • Proven knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulatory codes applicable to public projects.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, Registered Architect (RA), or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) in the state of New York.
  • Experience working with municipal or government agencies, particularly in New York City.
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Business Administration.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design and construction practices.
  • Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other advanced design technologies.

Responsibilities:
