Role Summary

We are seeking a Lead Wealth Distribution Intelligence & AI Partner – Private Markets to join the Distribution Intelligence team within Wealth Intelligence & Analytics. This senior individual contributor will serve as the primary intelligence and analytics partner to Private Markets leadership and distribution teams.

The role combines deep knowledge of Private Markets with advanced analytics, AI, and strategic problem-solving to identify growth opportunities, prioritize firms and advisors, assess market potential, improve sales execution, and inform senior-level decision-making.

The successful candidate will be both a strategic advisor and hands-on practitioner, translating complex data into clear actions while developing scalable, AI-enabled approaches that modernize how intelligence is delivered across Wealth Management.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position?

Strategic Business & Market Intelligence

  • Serve as a strategic analytics partner to Private Markets leadership, translating business priorities into measurable objectives, insights, and recommendations.

  • Apply a strong understanding of the Private Markets landscape to identify market trends, growth opportunities, competitive dynamics, and implications for distribution strategy.

  • Support business planning, resource allocation, performance reviews, go-to-market strategy, and other strategic decisions with forward-looking analysis.

Client & Opportunity Intelligence

  • Develop a comprehensive view of firms, advisors, buying units, platforms, and distribution opportunities using internal and external data.

  • Build segmentation, opportunity-scoring, and prioritization frameworks based on market potential, client behavior, engagement, product adoption, competitive position, and wallet opportunity.

  • Analyze sales, assets, flows, pipeline, retention, product adoption, and market share to identify performance drivers, risks, and areas of under penetration.

AI-Enabled Sales Execution

  • Apply generative AI, predictive analytics, automation, and advanced analytical techniques to opportunity identification, targeting, client preparation, sales planning, and next-best-action recommendations.

  • Partner with Private Markets Sales, Wealth Field Sales, National Accounts, Marketing, Product, and Sales Enablement to translate intelligence into coordinated client and distribution actions.

  • Lead the testing of new analytical approaches, measure commercial impact, and convert successful use cases into repeatable and scalable capabilities.

  • Communicate insights through clear, concise data storytelling tailored to executives, sales leaders, and distribution teams.

Data & Capability Development

  • Partner with Technology, Data Science, CRM, and Distribution Intelligence teams to develop scalable data, analytical, and AI capabilities.

  • Connect insights across CRM, sales, assets, flows, products, marketing engagement, market intelligence, and third-party data.

  • Identify gaps in data quality, accessibility, reporting, and analytics and help establish standards and solutions that strengthen the broader Wealth Intelligence & Analytics function.

  • Provide analytical thought leadership and help shape best practices, tools, and methodologies that can scale across the organization.

What qualifications, skills, and experience would help someone be successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree in analytics, data science, business, finance, economics, or a related field preferred.

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in distribution intelligence, analytics, sales strategy, client analytics, data science, Private Markets, or financial services.

  • Strong knowledge of the Private Markets landscape, including key products, distribution models, client segments, platforms, and market dynamics.

  • Experience supporting Private Markets, Alternatives, asset management distribution, strategic sales organizations, or wealth management businesses.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply AI, automation, predictive analytics, segmentation, opportunity scoring, or similar analytical techniques to business challenges.

  • Strong command of sales, AUM, flows, pipeline, product adoption, client activity, market share, and wealth management data.

  • Proficiency with analytical tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, generative AI tools, workflow automation, or similar technologies.

  • Ability to work directly with data while translating complex analysis into clear commercial recommendations.

  • Strong strategic thinking, business judgment, executive communication, data storytelling, and stakeholder influence skills.

  • Practical, outcome-oriented mindset with demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional work and drive progress without direct authority.

Work Schedule and Location

  • This is a hybrid role that can be based out of Stamford (CT), New York City, or Boston (MA) whereby the employee will work out of the office 4 days per week.

At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $148,000 – $183,000 per year depending on location plus bonus opportunity.
