Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Junior Trader to join our Agency CMO and MBS trading desk. This is an early career opportunity designed for an individual looking to develop a deep understanding of structured products, fixed-income markets, and trade execution. The candidate will work directly with senior traders and the team to support daily desk operations, manage trade lifecycles, and assist in risk management.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist senior traders with trade booking, position reconciliation, daily P&L reporting, and daily risk reporting
  • Monitor market data, yield curves, prepayment speeds, and macroeconomic indicators to identify trading opportunities and risks
  • Develop and optimize desk tools, databases, and automated workflows to streamline trading processes
  • Liaison with middle office, risk management, compliance, and technology teams to resolve settlement issues and ensure smooth operational flow

Skills You’ll Need

  • Recent undergraduate degree with a strong academic performance, including a high GPA with a background in mathematics, finance, or a related quantitative discipline
  • Familiar with Python, VBA, and other programming languages
  • Proficient work experience within securitized products is ideal
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimize workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.
