About Fortuna Health
We believe accessing healthcare should be as simple as doing your taxes on TurboTax. But for the millions on Medicaid, it’s not.
Fortuna Health is redefining the consumer experience for Medicaid. We’re helping millions navigate Medicaid end-to-end from eligibility and enrollment to renewing coverage. We're backed by a16z, BoxGroup, YC, and top healthcare angels.
We believe this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to dramatically improve the human condition for 80M people, and we need the help of high-throughput, growth-minded builders to make it happen.
About the role
Fortuna Health is growing fast, and our team is stretched across high-priority growth, operations, and product/engineering work. We're looking for a Founder Associate to become the connective tissue that keeps the founders moving at full speed: owning the logistics, follow-through, and operational details that otherwise eat hours out of every week.
Positioned as a force multiplier, this role bridges the gap between an Executive Assistant, Project Manager, and Chief of Staff. You'll work directly with the CEO and other founders, get exposure to how an early-stage company actually runs, and have real ownership from day one. We think of Founder Associate as a launchpad into startup roles.
What you'll do
Executive Leverage & Priority Control: Proactively manage the CEO's calendar and attention. Defend focus time, resolve conflicts before they surface, and act as a ruthless filter between what requires a live meeting, an email, or direct delegation.
Follow-Through & Task Accountability: Keep the founder’s operational queues airtight. Turn meeting notes and ad-hoc asks into structured action items, tracking and driving them through to execution.
Customer Operations & Project Management: Project-manage select operational work streams that touch our team and enterprise customers - tracking deliverables, deadlines, and taking first passes on standardized, structured documentation.
Strategic Experiences & Cultural Ops: Architect and execute monthly All-Hands, flagship company retreats, and external partner events end-to-end. Own everything from high-level agendas to logistics to build a strong culture.
Special Projects & Business Operations: Serve as the CEO's utility player. Partner with the COO on core business operations, workplace experiences, and special projects that keep the company running smoothly.
What we're looking for
High Agency & Autonomy - If you see something broken, you fix it without asking permission.
Clear Communication - Sharp written skills; you could draft investor updates and internal memos without requiring rewriting.
Exceptionally Organized - you naturally bring structure to chaos and don't wait to be told what's next
Comfortable holding many threads at once in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment
Discreet - you'll have visibility into sensitive company information and handle it accordingly
Requirements
0-1+ years of experience (recent graduates welcome to apply)
Ability to work 5 days per week in-person in NYC
What we offer
Competitive salary and equity ownership in the company
Platinum health insurance plans
Free lunch every day
All commuter expenses covered
$100/month wellness benefit
Unlimited PTO
401k plan with company match
