Job DetailsJob Location: Brooklyn Office - Brooklyn, NY 11206Position Type: Part TimeEducation Level: High SchoolSalary Range: $17.00 - $18.36 HourlyJob Category: Admin - ClericalPosition Summary: Receptionist is responsible for answering calls and receiving visitors in courteous and professional manner, also providing clerical support to staff, whenever needed. Major Duties: Management of all reception functions; including registering and announcing all walk-ins to clinic and re-routing all incoming calls. Verify, confirm, and/or process medical insurance information. Management of PTAR system for dispensing of Metrocards and transportation reimbursement. Organization of clinical records: filing chart related entries and correspondence, managing supply of forms, creating charts for admitted patients, closing charts for discharged patients, etc. Appointment system operation and organization for clinical staff including confirming appointments and rescheduling missed appointments. Daily preparation of charts for use. Make copies and send faxes as needed and requested by staff. Hand out client satisfaction surveys. Assist Program Secretary and/or Billing Clerk in other clerical tasks as needed. Provide coverage in the event that reception desk does not have coverage: mornings, evenings and weekends. Open and close facility during operating hours. Other duties as deemed necessary by management. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 1 year office experience. Prior healthcare reception experience preferred. Must have superior organizational and analytical skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of people, as well as an aptitude for teamwork. Ability to use public transportation for travel to program locations throughout New York City.
