FlexStaff is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist for Chemistry Department for our client, a leading hospital in Queens. This is a great opportunity for career growth and professional development within a dynamic and supportive environment.

This is a part-time role, working 21 hours per week.

Shift: 

  • 11:00 P.M – 7:00 A.M
  • 11:00 P.M – 7:30 A.M
  • 11:30 P.M – 7:30 A.M
  • 12:00 A.M – 8:00 A.M

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid clinical laboratory technologist, cytotechnologist, or histotechnologist limited or provisional permit issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
  • One (1) year of full-time experience as a technologist in a clinical laboratory or blood bank.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains a program of quality control and participates in a program of quality assurance.
  • Advises staff on appropriate methods and techniques.
  • Oversees the ordering and maintenance of laboratory supplies and equipment as well as the preparation, packaging, labeling, and standardization of laboratory media and reagents; and records results and pertinent data of prepared products or oversees this function.
  • Prepares labels, packages, and standardizes laboratory media, reagents, controls and specimens for use in analyses.
  • Prepares work orders for laboratory repairs.
  • Assists in developing and revising laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Conducts tests and/or other complex analyses.
  • Designs and maintains charts, logs, and other records.
  • Testifies in court or other proceedings as an expert witness.
  • May prepare correspondence and narrative/statistical reports.
  • May participate in or supervise the preparation, administration, and rating of laboratory proficiency test programs.
