Description

The Agronomy Warehouse Lead is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day warehouse and product-handling activities at Five Star’s Agronomy Retail Center (ARC). This is a hands-on position responsible for receiving, storing, treating, staging, loading, and distributing agronomy products while maintaining accurate inventory and providing excellent service to customers and internal teams.


The Agronomy Warehouse Lead services as the primary point person for daily activity within the ARC warehouse and may provide work direction for employees. This position works closely with the agronomy leadership, sales, and operations teams to ensure products are available, accurately handled, and prepared for customer pickup or delivery in a safe and timely manner. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating product transfers amongst locations. This position is responsible for inventory control of all products/commodities for proper quantity and quality.  


Essential Tasks:

  • Coordinate daily warehouse activities and prioritize work based on customer orders, deliveries, product needs, and seasonal demands
  • Receive incoming seed, crop protection products, and other agronomy products and verify shipments for accuracy
  • Organize and maintain warehouse inventory to ensure products are properly stored, identified, and accessible
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory counts and reconciliation
  • Stage and prepare customer orders for pickup and delivery
  • Load and unload trucks, trailers, customer vehicles, and other equipment using forklifts and appropriate material-handling equipment
  • Operate seed treatment equipment and accurately prepare treated seed according to location needs, customer orders, and established procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to product receiving, transfers, treatment, loading, and distribution
  • Utilize company systems to prepare invoices, delivery tickets, purchase orders, bills of lading, and other required documentation
  • Assist customers picking up product and provide professional, timely, and courteous customer service
  • Coordinate with agronomy sales staff to ensure customers’ orders are prepared accurately and on schedule
  • Provide day-to-day direction to seasonal or other employees assigned to the ARC
  • Train employees in proper procedures, product handling, equipment operation, and safety expectations
  • Identify inventory discrepancies, damaged products, equipment concerns, or other operational issues ad communicate them properly to management
  • Assist in developing and following standard operating procedures for warehouse and product-handling activities
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills; ability to manage priorities and workflow with acute attention to detail


Requirements

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Fluent reading, writing, or speaking the English language

Experience:

  • Agronomic experience preferred
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills necessary
  • Good customer service skills and approach necessary
  • Experience operating forklift preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills necessary
  • Computer skills required – Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive
  • Speaking, Writing, Reading Comprehension, Listening, Monitoring, Judgement and Decision Making, Time Management

License, Certificate, or Registration: 

  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Class A CDL preferred
  • Seed treatment and handlers license or the ability to obtain
