This position will work alongside our professional Arborist in caring for trees at the Nauvoo Historic Sites. Under the guidance of our experienced Arborist, this position will engage in hands-on tasks aimed at preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of these sacred locations. This position offers a unique opportunity to be immersed in the daily work of an Arborist while contributing to the stewardship of these beautiful historic sites.
- No prior arboriculture experience is necessary. We are looking for a seasonal employee with a desire to apply themselves diligently and be dedicated to this unique and sacred work.

Responsibilities
- Duties may include but are not limited to work in landscaped and forested areas including:
- Pruning
- Trail maintenance
- Invasive species control
- Chainsaw work (and use of other related tools)
- Responsibilities may vary by assignment depending on team needs and includes:
- Some routine cleaning and minor maintenance of buildings.
- Receive assignments from supervising staff, primarily the staff arborist.
- Meet rigid and challenging deadlines, work in harmony with other people, take direction on each assignment, and give full attention to detail.Â
Qualifications
- Must have a vehicle and a current driver's license.
- Must be able to obtain a sound judgment of Church doctrine, history, organization, policy and protocol.
- Ability to lift and move 50 lbs.Â
- Maintain a positive and helpful attitude while working with staff, missionaries, and visitorsÂ
