Job Summary:

Sr. Application Analyst – VICTR

The Sr. Researcher Workbench Application Analyst position is a full-time/exempt position that will support the All of Us Researcher Workbench (RW) at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in an academic/healthcare research setting. This position will provide technical and functional support to researchers using the Researcher Workbench, troubleshoot complex application and data-related issues, assist with user and workspace administration, and collaborate with internal and external technical teams to investigate and resolve issues. The position will develop a deep understanding of the Researcher Workbench and the All of Us data environment in order to help researchers effectively use the platform for approved research activities. This position is offered as an in-person or remote option.

Supported by Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Office of Research and the NIH-sponsored Clinical and Translational Service Award (CTSA), the mission of the institute is to transform the way ideas and research discoveries make their way from origin to patient care. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Provides technical and functional support to researchers using the All of Us Researcher Workbench, including troubleshooting complex application, data, access, and workspace issues.

· Investigates reported issues by reviewing error messages, system behavior, workspace configurations, settings, and other technical information to identify potential causes and solutions.

· Develops a strong understanding of the Researcher Workbench, its functionality, and the underlying All of Us data environment in order to effectively assist researchers and resolve technical issues.

· Assists with administrative activities within the Researcher Workbench and related systems, including user access, organizational/institutional configuration, workspace administration, and other platform management activities.

· Collaborates with product, engineering, data, security, and research teams to investigate and resolve complex issues and communicate user needs and technical requirements.

· Escalates issues appropriately to internal and external technical teams and works collaboratively to ensure issues are tracked through resolution.

· Creates and maintains technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, knowledge articles, and other resources to support researchers and internal teams.

· Identifies trends and recurring issues in user support requests and proactively recommends improvements to the platform, documentation, and support processes.

· Provides guidance and education to researchers on effective use of the Researcher Workbench and All of Us data within established policies and requirements.

· Ability to create support materials is a plus.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES

• Problem Management (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of Incident Tracking and Problem Reporting in practical applications of a difficult nature. Assures that the proper people receive problem reports as soon as detected. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering Incident Tracking and Problem Reporting products and services without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to train and educate by setting the example, giving technical instruction, providing leadership, and generally raising the level of performance of others while on the job.
• Product Knowledge (Intermediate): Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully developing or supporting applications for the product without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to educate and train others regarding the process.
• Testing (Intermediate): Possesses a high level of skill to develop new and execute pre-designed program test data, load testing, and ensures validity of data passed among programs. Able to use automated testing aids to help debug programs. Creates and maintains appropriate test documentation for regulatory requirements.
• Technical Analysis (Intermediate): Possesses high level of knowledge of the functionality of assigned products and the systems with which they interface. Proactively identifies, analyzes, and develops solutions to complex clinical, administrative, financial, operational, and technical issues. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable to successfully design build, configure, install, run reports, and perform maintenance support with minimal instruction or guidance from others. Participates in optimization efforts. May lead projects and delegate tasks.
• Configuration Management and Planning (Intermediate): Demonstrates a conceptual and business understanding of configuration management, planning and related topics. Able to quickly and accurately discuss the impact of new technology, platforms, and design criteria. Understands and monitors key business indicators as they may apply to enhancements of the system. Able to communicate with users and customers regarding configuration for business functions in an easily understandable manner. Participates or develops multi-faceted configuration plans.
